To this day, Vince Carter is widely regarded as one of the best dunkers in NBA history.
His greatest dunk is arguably one that never happened in the NBA.
During the summer of 2000, Vince Carter was part of the USA men’s team competing in the Summer Olympics. During a preliminary round game against France, the former Toronto Raptors icon stole a pass and had a clear runway to the rim.
The only person in front of him was France’s 7-foot-2 center, Frederic Weis. The All-Star forward proceeded to jump over him with a vicious dunk.
More than 20 years later, it is still the best poster dunk in basketball.
It was a great dunk, but it really sucked for the person who got dunked on.

This week, ESPN had Jack Harlow and Sinqua Walls into the studio to promote their new movie White Men Can’t Jump. At the end of the segment, they asked Vince Carter about his favorite dunk of all time. He mentioned the most talked about dunks which was the Olympic dunk and the dunk on Alonzo Mourning.
While the crew had a laugh at Weis, Carter revealed that the big man attempted suicide after that dunk and that he was even “blackballed out of France.”
Carter later revealed Frédéric Weis recovered and is now in the media.
