Vince Carter officially concluded his legendary NBA career after playing a record-breaking 22 seasons. Carter spent the first 6 1/2 seasons with the Toronto Raptors, where he played a key role in helping the team make the playoffs for the first time. His time with the Raptors earned him the nickname “Vinsanity.”
On Saturday, Carter was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. During his induction speech, Carter confirmed that he was entering the Hall of Fame as a Toronto Raptor.
“Thank you for that opportunity after six years; it all started there. I had some memorable moments with that organization, which created Vinsanity. Which is why, without a doubt, I’m going to the Hall of Fame as a Raptor,” Carter said.
Carter’s contributions to the Raptors were remarkable. According to Statmuse, he played 403 games for the team, averaging 23.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists during his tenure.

During his Hall of Fame speech, Vince Carter took a moment to express his admiration for fellow Raptors legend Kyle Lowry. He recalled a special moment they shared during the Raptors’ championship celebration.
“To my friends Kyle Lowry Not only a one not only are you one of my golfing buddies, But you’ve made an unbelievable gesture to me when the Raptors won the championship. I’m walking off the court, and Kyle is getting ready to do an interview,” Carter said.

“He stands up. Walks over to me and says, Hey man, come sit down do the interview with me. I humbly decline, but I just chose the kind of person he is,” he added.
When the Raptors revealed their plans to retire Carter’s No. 15 jersey, some “high-ranking members” expressed their displeasure. They argued that Lowry should have been the first player to receive this honor. Nevertheless, Carter holds no personal resentment toward Lowry despite the controversy.
