The Utah Jazz have unveiled a new team jersey after wearing the Highlighter yellow and black uniform for the past two years. The new purple jersey represents the mountains with white and sky blue accents. The official Utah Jazz account on X (formerly known as Twitter) provided the update on Wednesday morning by posting a video of the jersey.
“The most courts per capita in the nation. The largest youth program in the league. 85% of the population is near the mountains. Utah is Mountain Basketball.” The caption of that post
Fans couldn’t control their excitement after watching the video of the Jazz jersey and had different types of reactions.
One fan criticized the previous highlighter yellow jersey and said, “These are so much better than the ones that y’all have been previously worn.”
A second fan became super excited about the mountains in New Jersey and reacted, “Purple is back!!! I love leaning into the mountains; this is exactly what we wanted.”

A third fan stated, “Could’ve chosen between one of the purples and literally just went with the ‘97-98 jerseys.”
Meanwhile, a fourth fan reacted, “Fire whoever thought it was a good idea to change the colors to neon green and black. Glad the purple and blue is back.”
Utah Jazz Owner emphasizes the significance of mountains in the team’s jersey
In an interview with ESPN, Jazz owner Ryan Smith praised the purple jersey, stating that the color pops and represents the essence of the Jazz. He added that while other teams also have purple jerseys, the mountains on theirs truly embody the spirit of the Jazz.
“We know the purple pops; It’s how many people know us. It’s not simple because you have a couple of other teams with a couple of other variations of purple. Making this our own has been what we’ve been working on. The one thing that is absolutely part of who we are is these mountains that sit within 15 miles of no matter where you live.” Jazz owner Ryan Smith said.
