So now that we are considering everybody’s opinion on the Anthony Davis-Luka Doncic trade, why not ask Stephen Curry? The Golden State Warriors superstar recently found himself surrounded with the lingering question. While everybody wanted to check his reaction, Steph knew what it feels like when unexpected trades occur, just like the Klay Thompson one.
Recently, when enquired about his honest reaction to the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks pulling off a jaw-dropping trade, Curry didn’t have more than one word to add. The shuffle saw Dallas sending Luka Doncic to Los Angeles and Anthony Davis to the Mavs. When asked whether he believed the swap was a “good or bad” move, Curry simply stated, “Neither.”
Stephen Curry was asked about the Luka Doncic/Anthony Davis trade:

However, Curry’s reaction resonated with many across the league. Although this was a ‘too good to be true’ trade, nobody saw it coming. Even Steph’s teammates, Draymond Green and Brandin Podziemski, expressed their disbelief at the news. Podziemski summed up the collective sentiment with the candid remark, “That’s real?!”
Actually, they are not to be blamed for their disbelief. Nobody ever thought of the Lakers handing Davis a final send-off. He has been there for quite some time at the camp, and he was one of the main men around LeBron James. But now that it has been done and drafted let’s see what Dallas brings on for the now-former Laker AD.
Should Stephen Curry Care About The Luka Doncic Trade?
Should Curry care for what recently happened? Yes, he should certainly pay attention to the recent trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. It has been a groundbreaking move in many ways. The fact that a player deemed untouchable can be traded speaks volumes about the league’s current state.
For Curry, this reinforces the reality that no one, not even franchise cornerstones, is immune to the whims of trades. Doncic’s move may invoke a sense of unease among star players, as it clarifies that loyalty is no longer a given. Any player can find themselves on the trading block at any moment, regardless of their stature or contribution to a franchise.

However, while Curry might keep an eye on these developments, he shouldn’t be overly concerned about his status. The comparison between himself and Doncic has major gaps. They are in different stages of their careers, with Curry approaching the twilight years and Doncic still in his prime.
Simply put, Curry’s storied legacy built on four championships and his status as a Bay Area icon sets him apart from players like Doncic, whose potential has just begun to be realized. While trades can happen, the Warriors’ commitment to Curry and his desire to retire as a Warrior remain strong, making a trade unlikely.
