The Golden State Warriors have experienced a turbulent season following Klay Thompson’s departure during the offseason. Many believed that Stephen Curry and the Warriors would continue their legacy of success despite the loss. Initially, it seemed possible. After an undefeated preseason, the Warriors started the regular season with a 15-3 record.
However, their momentum has slowed considerably since the early games. The team’s current 18-17 record reflects a squad struggling to find consistency. While the Dallas Mavericks have faced their own challenges, they hold a better position than the Warriors in the standings with a 20-15 record to date.
On Monday, the Warriors faced another setback, suffering a 129-99 loss to the Sacramento Kings. From the outset, the Kings controlled the game, building a 36-21 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Warriors never recovered, with their defensive lapses and offensive struggles on full display.
Following the blowout, Stephen Curry expressed his frustration during the post-game press conference. Curry openly stated that the Warriors are “not built” to overcome significant deficits.
“Nobody likes to get embarrassed like that. Especially the way we started the first quarter. When you’re looking up and it’s a double-digit lead before the first timeout. 36-21,” Curry said.

“We’re not really built, especially with the situation, to have that crazy comeback,” Curry added.

Steve Kerr Shares Frustration After Stephen Curry’s Team’s Struggles Continue
Following the Warriors’ disappointing 129-99 loss to the Kings, head coach Steve Kerr expressed his frustration with the team’s ongoing struggles. When asked about the significance of such a lopsided defeat, Kerr provided a candid response during the post-game press conference.
“I mean, the loss is a loss, so it’s not any more alarming than any other loss. So this is the NBA these days; it’s such a fast game and so many threes that there are just gonna be some nights where everything goes your way or everything goes the other team’s way,” Kerr said.
Despite the team’s struggles, Stephen Curry continued to shine. He finished the game recording 26 points and seven rebounds. Curry was particularly dominant in the first half, scoring 20 points and grabbing four rebounds while shooting 6-of-7 from the field.
