After entering the league with a well-earned defensive reputation, Stephon Castle then made his NBA journey true, being the 4th overall pick of the San Antonio Spurs. While his journey to the NBA has been noteworthy, it wasn’t without its peculiar moments. Recently, Castle shared some of the unusual experiences he faced during the NBA Draft Combine.
While appearing on the “Knuckleheads Podcast,” Castle revealed the odd inquiries teams made about his past.
“They do ask some weird questions especially in the combine when they do the interviews and stuffs. They ask some weird questions about like old stuff like background,” he said.
Castle recounted a particularly strange question about an incident from his middle school days.
“One of the team I don’t remember what team it was but they had asked me about something that happened in the middle school that went public,” he added.
Castle stood out as one of college basketball’s top perimeter defenders. Last season with the Huskies, he averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Many believe he has the potential to bolster the Spurs’ defense alongside star player Victor Wembanyama.
