The rookie was drafted 40th overall by his hometown team, the Suns, in this year’s draft. This season, he has been stepping in from the bench for the Suns, appearing in five games so far this season.
However, his three-point practice routine ahead of the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday stirred up quite a reaction among fans online. A video shared by Suns reporter Duane Rankin showed Ighodaro practicing three-pointers from both the left and right corners during warm-ups.
Unfortunately, his attempts struggled to find the mark, with Ighodaro missing most of his shots. The video quickly went viral, and fans didn’t hold back their reactions.
Some fans were left shocked by Ighodaro’s lack of success from beyond the arc, with a few even questioning how he managed to secure a spot in the NBA. Others humorously labeled his shooting style as the ugliest shot in the NBA.

While the criticism may be tough, it’s not unusual for rookies to face challenges as they adjust to the league’s higher standards. Ighodaro’s early struggles may be a part of his learning curve, and he’ll likely work to improve his shooting skills in the games to come.
Oso Ighodaro Earns Praise from Bradley Beal After Preseason Performance
Though Oso Ighodaro has yet to produce a good performance in the regular season, his preseason was not so bad, as he got some praise from the Suns’ Bradley Beal. After the Suns’ 105-97 win over the Detroit Pistons, Beal had positive words for Ighodaro’s confidence and skill on the court.
“He looks really good. He looks really good, running and shooting the ball with confidence,” Beal said.
In that matchup, Ighodaro put up six points, grabbed seven rebounds, contributed four assists, and blocked two shots. But his regular season stats currently show a modest average of 1 point and 2.3 rebounds per game over five appearances.
