Former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo was arrested in Jackson County, Indiana, earlier this year. He was driving a Tesla without a number plate, which led the police to pull him over. After the stop, the officers, who recognized the former Boston Celtics guard, arrested him over the possession of a firearm and marijuana. Recently, a police bodycam video footage has surfaced on social media showing the incident.
When the police stopped Rondo, they asked him about his NBA career, and the two-time champion’s response made them react, “Wow.” Unfortunately, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and a gun were present in his car, which landed him in trouble. TMZ recently released the video clip of Rondo’s arrest, which went viral on social media.
Two of Rondo’s three charges were dropped following a September plea deal. He resolved the case by agreeing to plead guilty to a misdemeanor offense of unauthorized possession of a gun. According to TMZ, Rondo was sentenced to 180 days in jail but was reduced to probation with no further legal trouble.
