The Toronto Raptors’ challenging season took another hit Monday night after a 113-108 loss to the New York Knicks at Scotiabank Arena. The game was marked not just by the defeat but also by a worrying injury to Raptors star Scottie Barnes.
The third quarter turned grim for the Raptors when Barnes went down with what initially appeared to be a serious foot injury. With Toronto leading 73-66, Barnes leaped from behind to challenge Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns on a scoring attempt. However, after landing awkwardly on Towns’ foot, Barnes collapsed to the floor in visible agony. He was spotted clutching the middle of his right foot.

Unable to put any weight on his injured foot, Barnes was heard repeatedly saying, “I can’t feel my foot,” as medical staff rushed to assist him. Teammates helped him off the court, and he was later taken to the locker room. The Raptors ultimately ruled him out for the remainder of the game.
Karl-Anthony Towns was visibly concerned during the incident. Towns was seen grabbing his own foot while medical staff examined Barnes.
Toronto Raptors Star Scottie Barnes’ Injury Update
Despite the alarming scene, initial X-rays showed no fractures, according to Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic. This update, reported by Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports, suggested Barnes had likely avoided a major injury.
Before leaving the game, Barnes contributed 15 points, five rebounds, and three assists. This latest setback comes after he missed 11 games earlier in the season due to a right orbital fracture.

The loss dropped Toronto’s record to 7-18. The Raptors now face an uphill battle as they prepare to visit the Miami Heat on Thursday. If Barnes is unable to play, the team will need to rely on players like Davion Mitchell and Ja’Kobe Walter to fill the void.
