Since joining the Denver Nuggets last offseason, Russell Westbrook has been proving why his addition was a smart move for the team. Westbrook’s strong performance on Thursday led the Nuggets to a 132-123 victory over the Sacramento Kings and also silenced critics who doubted his impact in recent years.
In the post-game press conference, Westbrook expressed gratitude to the Nuggets organization for trusting him and allowing him to play his game. He also credited teammate Nikola Jokic for supporting his role on the team.
“I’m grateful for them wanting me to come here, and then second, getting here and allowing me to be able to be who I’ve been my entire career. So, I’m grateful for that. Nikola has been a huge advocate for that, for the betterment of the team,” Russ said.
