Former NBA star Patrick Beverley returned overseas, joining Israeli Basketball Premier League’s Hapoel Tel Aviv in the offseason. While Beverley could have stayed in the NBA, it would probably be a reduced role and a minimum contract. Recently, the 36-year-old revealed the shocking amount of drug tests he underwent due to his “great” performances.
On his recent podcast, the former Milwaukee Bucks guard, known for his blunt NBA takes on social media, praised his team for winning four consecutive games. They recently won a road game against Jerusalem. He claimed to have been drug-tested multiple times after his performances.
“I’ve been playing great basketball. We’ve been playing great basketball. We won four in a row. We just beat Jerusalem in Jerusalem. That was a vibe. After the game, I got drug-tested. Had to take 11 drug tests, 11 drug tests. Y’all heard me, 11 drug tests. They said the first 10 were, I had too much water in my system, but I came off the Yom Kippur fast,” Beverley said.
“11 drugs, I don’t think y’all hear me. I had to piss in a cup 11 times… was there till four o’clock in the morning. I got home from Jerusalem at 5.14. We had an eight o’clock in the morning flight in the game the next day. I got another dub, so Eurovibe has been fun,” he added
Patrick Beverley Plays A Vital Role In His Team’s Win Against Hapoel Jerusalem
In the game against Hapoel Jerusalem, Beverley played 27 minutes and registered 13 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. With his all-around performance, Beverley helped the Hapoel Tel Aviv secure an 85-72 victory. Apart from Beverley, Johnathan Motley recorded a game-high 22 points in the win.
Apart from the Israeli League, Beverley’s side won three of its four games in the Euro Cup. Hapoel Tel Aviv is second in the Group A standings. Beverley won the EuroCup MVP in 2012, and it remains to be seen if he could add another honor to his collection this season.
