The Oklahoma City Thunder star Chet Holmgren had a rough start to his NBA career due to a Lisfranc injury to his right foot. The injury required surgery and forced Holmgren to miss his rookie season, coincidentally aligning him with fellow NBA rookie Victor Wembanyama. They both later entered their first entire season on the court simultaneously.
Despite the budding rivalry between the two on the court, Holmgren recently confirmed that there’s no bad blood between him and Wembanyama off the court. During an appearance on Paul George’s “Podcast P,” Holmgren addressed the rumors of a feud between them.
“I’ll just say, us being competitors. We played against each other before we were even in the NBA. But people be like, ‘Y’all got beef?’ I’m like, ‘Beef? We’re out there competing, but beef? Beef means, when I see you, we’re fighting,” Holmgren said.
“I don’t got beef with him. I honestly don’t even know the guy; we just play basketball against each other,” he added.
