The Denver Nuggets have been facing some early-season struggles, leading their star center, Nikola Jokic, to seek solutions and push for improvement. However, despite their challenges, Jokic has continued to deliver outstanding performances. The Nuggets recently picked up a morale-boosting 135-122 victory over the Miami Heat, and Jokic played a key role in the win.
After the game, Jokic took part in a live press conference where he had a humorous exchange with a reporter that added some levity to the team’s recent ups and downs. When asked if he had experienced any “bad nights” this season, Jokic immediately thought of the team’s second game, which was a tough 109-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
“I think the second game where we lost,” Jokic answered.
But the reporter quickly reminded him that he had actually scored 41 points in that game, along with grabbing nine rebounds and making four assists. Only then Jokic realized his oversight, laughed, and responded, “Oh no.”
Despite his joking comment, Jokic’s performances have been anything but bad. The reigning MVP has shown his skill, often carrying the Nuggets with his stellar stats even in games where the team has struggled.
In their latest game, the three-time MVP registered 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. He is averaging 27.0 points, 15.0 rebounds, and 14.3 assists per game this season.

Nikola Jokic Reflects On Nuggets’ Defensive Struggles Despite Win Over Heat
After Friday’s win, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic shared some concerns about the team’s defense. While the Nuggets managed to secure a victory, Jokic noted that defensive lapses allowed the Miami Heat to score points in quick bursts.
“We shot well, but had some poor stretches on defense. I think they scored ten to fifteen points in just four minutes. Then we improved defensively, and again they scored ten to fifteen points. I think we played well but then lost focus,” Jokic said.
With another challenging matchup against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, Jokic and the Nuggets are looking to tighten up their defense and continue building on their recent win.
