In Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Western Conference finals, Luka Doncic had Rudy Gobert miss the game-winning shot. After being shifted to by the four-time Defensive Player of the Year, Doncic made the three. With three seconds remaining, he spun circles around Gobert and scored the game-winning three-pointer to give the Mavericks a 109-106 victory.
After Luka Doncic used his skillful dribbling maneuvers to create separation, Gobert was nowhere to be seen. Nevertheless, the Mavs are well-positioned to defeat the Timberwolves and win the NBA Western Conference Final for the first time since 2011 with a 2-0 lead going into Games 3 and 4 in Dallas.
As per the stats on NBA.com, Doncic led Dallas, which had a deficit as large as 18, with a 32-point, 13-assist, 10-rebound triple-double. Moreover, with 1:05 remaining, Mavs player Kyrie Irving’s corner three cut the Minnesota lead to within two points.
Minnesota led 108-103. With 13 seconds remaining, Minnesota superstar Anthony Edwards made a mistake, giving Dallas the ball back after the teams exchanged futile possessions.

Western Conference Finals will return to Dallas for Games 3 and 4. The Mavericks already have a 2-0 advantage. NBA players, pundits, and spectators were all in awe of Dončić’s ruthless game-winning shot up to that point.
After Luka Doncic received the ball and a crucial pass, Rudy Gobert of the Timberwolves guarded him on the wing. Then, the MVP runner-up hit a stepback three-pointer for the one-point advantage. However, Naz Reid, the Timberwolves’ was the best shooter of the evening. He possessed the ball when his potential game-winning shot failed to connect.

Although, it was another poor night for players Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. Naz Reid went 7-for-9 from 3-point range for 23 points. But his final attempt at the buzzer rimmed in and out to send the Wolves to Dallas for Game 3 on Sunday.
