The Los Angeles Lakers have had a mixed season so far. With a win-loss record of 18-13, the purple and gold sit at 5th seeded in the West. However, they might be in for a playoff run, and they might need some additional help to power through. In a recent update, Lakers head coach JJ Reddick dropped a major update that would help LeBron James and co. in their NBA title quest.
Apparently, the Lakers have acquired Dorian Finney-Smith’s services from the Brooklyn Nets. Revealing their newest addition, Reddick mentioned that Finney-Smith will be coming off the bench initially. “Dorian gives us another defender. He’s a guy who has guarded multiple positions throughout his career. He’s worked to become an elite spot-up catch-and-shoot three-point shooter, so I’m excited to have him,” said Reddick.

Surely, the acquisition is worth every penny. Finney-Smith is currently averaging 10.4 points along with 4.6 rebounds. Thus, with the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis already performing significantly well, the Lakers might as well start dreaming big. Meanwhile, JJ Reddick has also inculcated the small-ball lineups that have come out as immensely successful. Recently, Rui Hachimura had an interesting take on the same.
Rui Hachimura Drops His Opinion On Small-Ball Lineups
JJ Reddick has been doing great work with his team using small-ball tactics. One player who has immensely benefited from this is Rui Hachimura. Blossoming under Reddick, Hachimura boasts a 75% shooting from the three-point range. Thus, it is quite understandable that Hachimura is head over heels for the tactics.

“It’s small-ball, but you just still got to be more physical than the other team. We got to play faster, and then we got to shoot more threes,” Hachimura stated, according to a report from ClutchPoints. Thus, with new additions coming in to bolster the squad, the Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to make the most of the same.
