The New Orleans Pelicans are in serious trouble. After losing 93-104 against the New York Knicks, the side succumbed to a six-match losing streak. With five wins and a staggering 24 losses, this current season looks all but over for the Pelicans. Now, putting up a sorry performance on the court is not the only problem New Orleans is dealing with. They have also been impacted heavily by Zion Williamson’s unavailability.
Williamson has been injured for most of the league due to complications regarding managing his weight. In the game against the Knicks, too, the 24-year-old was sitting on the bench. This is when legendary commentator Mike Breen decided to take a shot at the NBA star. “Zion Williamson in a familiar spot, on the bench,” chimed Breen as the camera panned to Williamson.

Well, the frustration is palpable. Even the die-hard Pelicans fans look unhappy about their former No. 1 pick. Meanwhile, Mike Breen was not the only one talking about Williamson’s injury. Recently, DeMarcus Cousins and Michelle Beadle had some suggestions for the NBA star.

Zion Williamson has appeared in just six games so far. His sorry state of affairs has seen him get out of contention for any NBA regular-season awards. Apart from causing his team significant trouble, Williamson’s continued struggles with his weight have impacted his body as well. Concerned about the same, DeMarcus Cousins and Michelle Beadle had a suggestion for the Pelicans’ star.

In a recent episode of ‘Run It Back’ podcast, Beadle asked him to use a specific injection. “It’s a lot. I mean, Ozempic is out there,” said Beadle, encouraging Williamson to curb his complications with type 2 diabetes. Cousins, on the other hand, stated that New Orleans is famous for its delightful foods. Thus, it is a bad idea to trade Zion Williamson to such a place when he was already struggling with weight management.
