LeBron James delivered a masterful performance at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night and led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 128-112 win over the New York Knicks. The game seemed to be a personal statement to his critics as James showcased his all-around brilliance and proved why he remains one of the league’s most influential players.
Before heading into the game, James had faced criticism over his selection for this season’s NBA All-Star Game. However, rather than letting the doubts affect him, the four-time champion responded by putting on a show under the bright lights of New York.
At one point, James was even seen interacting with a fan to ensure that they were fully present for his performance. The Lakers star playfully instructed the fan to remove his hoodie cap and headphones to make sure they could properly appreciate the action unfolding before them. The fan didn’t hesitate to acknowledge the rare moment of direct engagement with one of the greatest players in basketball history.
