Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James were members of the American basketball team that won the gold medal in London in 2012. Durant led the United States to two more gold medals in 2016 and 2020, although James and Davis were absent from the following two editions. James is probably not looking to compete in another Olympics, so the three are returning for what will probably be their last trip.
A chat between James, Durant, and Davis was seen on the second day of the Americans’ training camp. A team’s support crew member placed a microphone over their heads during the team’s preparation and Olympic run. The famous LA Lakers player, aware of what was happening, altered the equipment during this light-hearted moment.
Since none of the three would have spoken with their mouths covered, the conversation was probably not private. The fact that a microphone was over their heads didn’t bother them. They probably stated something that the general public could hear.
LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Davis, who have the most outstanding Olympic competition experience among athletes, will be key members of Team USA. James allegedly brought in many new players after the United States placed fourth in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Most will view the three as role models.

Kevin Durant holds the record for career points scored in USA Basketball. He has won the gold each time he has worn the national team color. The Americans won gold in the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympics, trailing only Durant. KD further contributed to the team’s 2010 World Championship gold. Even LeBron James hasn’t had a spectacular career playing basketball internationally.
James stated the following on his reunion with Durant before the start of training camp in Las Vegas: “To us staying relatively healthy, obviously we’ve had some bumps & bruises throughout our careers but our game still translates from 12 years ago to now & it’s always great to team with one of the greatest of all time.”

Team USA is stacked with talent with players like Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and others. However, James and Durant will take the lead and have everyone in agreement. LeBron James is grateful to be able to share this Olympic experience with Kevin Durant, knowing that it will probably be his last.
