LeBron James has long dreamed of sharing the court with his eldest son, Bronny James, in the NBA. This dream took a significant step toward reality when the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. While the father-son duo has yet to make their on-court debut together, anticipation is building among fans eager to see them play side by side.
In a recent conversation, LeBron provided some insights into their unique father-son dynamic on the court. He revealed that they have established some ground rules to maintain professionalism while playing together.
“We already laid that down. He cannot call me ‘Dad’ in the workplace,” LeBron said.
The four-title winner later shared the importance of separating their personal relationships from their professional roles on the team.
“Once we leave the practice facility and the gates close, I can be ‘Dad’ again, in the car if we ride together. At home, I can be ‘Dad.’ But on the court, he’s got to call me ‘2-3,’ ‘Bron,’ or even ‘GOAT’ if he wants. It’s up to him,” he added.

In an interview with Nicole Ganglani of SB Nation, Kuzma opened up about the invaluable lessons he learned from his time with the Lakers’ dynamic duo.
“Everything—how to be a pro. How to motivate people, how to work, how to be a businessman—so many things. And I think that was one of the most important times of my life—taking a backseat and really watching and learning. And I think everything I’ve done then, I’m doing now, and trying to pay it forward and give it to people, too,” Kuzma said.
LeBron and Davis’ roles will be more crucial than ever, especially as they mentor rookie Bronny James. After a challenging Summer League debut, Bronny will need the guidance and leadership of his father and Davis to navigate the pressures of the NBA.
