The Los Angeles Lakers suffered one of the most tantalizing losses in their last game. Facing off against the Houston Rockets, LeBron James and co. succumbed to a 115-119 defeat. One of the biggest highlights of the match was how the Lakers came back from behind to almost pick up a memorable victory. Unfortunately, while they fell short, LeBron James’ overlooked attempt to call a timeout has riled up the internet.
During the closing moments of the game, James anticipated Max Christie was on the verge of committing a turnover off the inbounds. Thus, he immediately tried to signal for a timeout before the ball was played. The referees missed this. However, speaking on the matter after the game, King James does not seem to have any hard feelings.
“Absolutely. That’s why I called the timeout because I saw it go wrong. They played it good, stayed on top of everything. I saw Fred shoot a guy on top of me and I called timeout when Max definitely still had the ball in his hands. It wasn’t rewarded but that happens, you don’t lose a game because of that,” said James.

Earlier in the game, the Lakers were trailing by 22 points in the first half. However, the Lakers made a thumping comeback in the second, courtesy of a 21-point game from James. Unfortunately, with the win looking quite within the grasp, a botched inbound play in the final seconds sealed the victory for the Rockets. Meanwhile, with the NBA season in an advanced stage, there are calls for LeBron James’ future in the NBA. Surprisingly, James himself dropped quite a mysterious hint.
LeBron James To Remain With The Lakers?
LeBron James is now 40 and has reached the fag end of his career. Thus, there are rumors of all sorts flying around about his potential retirement. What’s more, there are also theories that suggest that King James might make a move to pair up with Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry. However, in a recent media interaction, James dropped a hint that points to his wish to retire with the Lakers.
“I think that’s the plan, I think I would love for it to end here. I came here (LA) to play the last stage of my career and to finish it off here,” said James.
