The Lakers drafted Bronny in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft. During the practice game, James drove past Bronny along the baseline for a reverse layup, scoring over his son. Afterward, they exchanged words, which Rob Pelinka described as “more challenging than anything else” during a recent interview. Additionally, James posted about the practice session on his Instagram story, where he mentioned “Great Defense. Better O.”
During Lakers media day, Spectrum SportsNet desk reporter Allie Clifton asked Bronny about the incident. In response, James’ son claimed that he reviewed the clip and said that LeBron stepped out of bounds.
Bronny James: “Alright, in all seriousness, I looked at the film, and he did step out of bounds. But I’m not gonna go there. I’m not gonna go there right now.”
LeBron James: “What do you mean you’re not going to go there right now? You just went there!”
Bronny: “I mean, I know you did.”

LeBron: “I stepped out of bounds?”
Bronny: “You did. You stepped out of bounds. I got the stop.”
LeBron: “They don’t even have that camera angle of the baseline like that!”
