Kendrick Lamar took his fans by surprise when he dropped his surprise new album recently. ‘GNX’ is the sixth studio album release of Lamar and his first since ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’ in 2022. Well, while this was a pleasant surprise for his fans, there was one particular person who seemed to know about the album beforehand. And it was none other than the Sacramento Kings star, DeMar DeRozan.
As a matter of fact, the NBA athlete shares a close bond with the rapper. Thus, after the conclusion of Friday’s game, DeRozan decided to flaunt his knowledge about the recently dropped album. What’s more? He even offered some of his music wisdom about what the songs of the album look like.

“Proud of him. Another masterpiece,” said DeRozan while speaking about the album. As far as having prior knowledge about the album drop, DeRozan said, “Maybe I knew.” Surely, it would have been a proud moment for the Kings’ star to witness the madness the fans are feeling about his friend’s new album. Meanwhile, his outing on the court did not turn out to be a pleasant affair at all.
DeMar DeRozan Looks To Up His NBA Game
The Sacramento Kings squared off against the Los Angeles Clippers. Dominating the game thoroughly, the Clippers had no trouble in toppling DeRozan’s side by a score of 106-88. To add to the woes of the team, DeMar DeRozan also had a pretty bad outing. Having played for 36 minutes, he scored just 16 points.

This is in stark contrast to the way he performed in his initial season with the Kings. DeRozan averaged 22.9 points per game with 4.1 assists and 4.1 rebounds each. Thus, with things looking a bit tight, DeMar DeRozan will be looking to bring in his A-game as the season progresses.
