Kevin Durant has been trying to determine why the NBA has been experiencing a major dip in its ratings. With the media targeting the league significantly for its diminished viewership, several reasons are considered the potential culprit. One of the main reasons for doing the rounds is the NBA becoming too ‘soft.’ However, debunking all the theories, Kevin Durant recently had an interesting take on the same.
Durant stated that the main problem was the over-critical fan base of the league. The media has a significant role to play in this. Instead of embracing the new style of play, the audience always wants something more. “You see us all the time so it’s kind of easy to throw it at us, and we make so much money. People look at us like, we can take it… I take this serious. I’m locked in as to why people don’t want to watch us play,” said KD.

And surely enough, the Phoenix Suns star has been doing everything he can to make the NBA enjoyable. Durant is currently in the form of his life. Till now, KD has averaged 27.1 points, 3.9 assists, and 6.6 rebounds. Meanwhile, the NBA legend also looked overly confident about the NBA’s Christmas Day games’ performance.
Kevin Durant Joins LeBron James In Hailing NBA Over The NFL
The Christmas Day battle was on between the NBA and the NFL. However, after the Lakers secured a thrilling victory, LeBron James claimed that Christmas Day belonged to the NBA. Echoing similar sentiments was the 2014 NBA MVP, Kevin Durant. He mentioned that the amount of excitement the Christmas Day games garnered was surely a welcome sign for the declining NBA ratings.
"It's not just [me, Steph and LeBron], you see Jokic tonight. You see a hall of famer, an icon in Russ tonight. … It was an amazing day for basketball, I'm grateful I was able to play."
