Kentucky Wildcats star Rob Dillingham is expected to be a near lock for the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft, though his projection was initially in doubt. Recently, the standout player shared his thoughts with NBA insider Shams Charania, shedding light on his vision for his professional career and the role models who have inspired him along the way.
The Kentucky star expressed his eagerness to contribute to any team willing to invest in his abilities.
“I feel like I can give you my all. So I feel like in any situation that trusts me and invests in me to help their team, I feel like I can do anything they need me to do, whether it’s pass and shoot, being a star player, or being a backup point guard,” he said.
Dillingham later spoke about the NBA players who have influenced his game. He cited various role models, including Kevin Durant, Steve Nash, and Kyrie Irving.
“I really just take pieces of Kevin Durant, Steve Nash, and Kyrie Irving—just different players from over the years that all do different things,” he added.

“It’s played the biggest role because, without family and without struggles, you don’t really have any motivation. And that’d be the problem with a lot of dudes. And I feel like with my family, like, we’ve been through so much. It just pushes me to keep wanting to go and provide for them and help our family,” Dillingham said.
In the 2023–24 season, Dillingham’s performance was spectacular across 32 games. He averaged 23.3 minutes per game, contributing 15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1 steal per game.
