During a recent episode of First Take, Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA player, was asked about the recent incident involving Los Angeles Lakers star player LeBron James, who had unfollowed Perkins on social media. In response, Perkins said that James has unfollowed him, but he has to see him daily on TV.
“Imagine unfollowing me on Twitter, but you still got to wake up and watch me on TV every day. Because. I ain’t going nowhere anytime soon – that’s number one.” Perkins said during the latest episode of First Take.
Perkins mentioned that LeBron James has become increasingly sensitive lately. He said that he spoke about multiple topics involving James, including the firing of Darvin Ham, the next Lakers head coach, and Bronny James’ draft, but James ignored him and unfollowed him.
Number two, I think LeBron James got sensitive over the last couple of weeks because I’ve been calling him out or have been speaking on things that he might disagree with. Like the firing of Darvin Ham or the coaching search of the Lakers or even having to touch on the Bronny James situation when it comes down to dealing with the draft,” Perkins added.
Why did LeBron James unfollow Kendrick Perkins?
James unfollowed Perkins because he criticized the Los Angeles Lakers for remarks he made against Kyrie Irving. In addition to Perkins, James also unfollowed two more people. He unfollowed Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin, but the reason for unfollowing both of them is still unknown.
Perkins also mentioned to James that he has his phone number, and if James encounters any issues, he should call Perkins for a conversation.
