The NBA 2024-25 regular season has kicked off, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks opened their campaign on a winning note. The Bucks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 124-109 as the Greek Freak registered a double-double while star guard Damian Lillard scored 30 points. During the game, Sixers star Kelly Oubre Jr. grabbed the attention with his hilarious way of showing frustration with Giannis’ playing style.
The two-time NBA MVP scored 25 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and made 7 assists against the 76ers. Giannis Antetokounmpo dominated the game with his size and aggressive playing style. The Bucks star used his elbows and made body contact, which frustrated the 76ers’ coaching staff and players.
The 76ers coach, Nick Nurse, appeared to throw his elbow in the air to mimic Giannis in front of the referee. However, following the referee’s ignorance, Kelly Oubre Jr. took a hilarious step to express his disappointment with no call. While swinging his elbows to demonstrate Giannis’ physical play, the 76ers wing hilariously began dancing.
76ers Stars Kelly Oubre Jr. And Andre Drummond Shine Despite Opening-Game Loss
In the absence of Philadelphia’s star duo of Paul George and Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre Jr. was the second-leading scorer for the Sixers. He scored 21 points, which was only behind Tyrese Maxey’s 25-point game. On the other hand, his hilarious on-court dance moves garnered plenty of reactions on social media.
While Paul George suffered a left knee injury during a preseason game, Embiid missed the game due to a sore left knee. Embiid did not participate in the preseason and claimed to have no intention of playing back-to-back games in his basketball career.
Apart from Kelly Oubre Jr., Andre Drummond also had a decent outing in his return to the 76ers. The second-leading active NBA player in rebounds, who is only behind LeBron James, scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the absence of the 76ers’ regular center. The Sixers will next travel to the Scotiabank Arena to face the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
