On Sunday night, there was an odd incident involving Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson on the San Antonio Spurs bench. There was an odd yet humorous biting incident during their home game versus the Philadelphia 76ers.
Following Champagnie’s 3-point basket, Johnson hurried over to the Spurs bench to join him in celebration. Keldon Johnson cut and bled after he unintentionally struck Champagnie’s forehead with his teeth as he was yelling with joy.

After leaving the game for a short while to get help for a cut on his forehead, Champagne came back and played for 39 minutes. The Spurs were defeated 133-126 in double overtime despite his best efforts.
With 17 points in the game, including the three-pointer that forced overtime, Champagnie emerged victorious. At the end of the game, Victor Wembanyama finished with an impressive 33 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 blocks, as per the NBA Website.

Keldon Johnson Leaves the Game Early Following an Odd Biting Incident
Julian Champagnie made a full recovery following the event, however, Keldon Johnson was forced to leave the game after just 23 minutes due to an injury. As per the Spurs, Johnson suffered a left foot injury during the fourth quarter of the game on Sunday and was unable to play for the rest of it.
Johnson had finished with a plus-eight plus/minus after ending with 7 points and 4 rebounds before leaving. This season, Keldon Johnson has averaged 15.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 69 games, which has been quite helpful for the Spurs as they rebuild.
The Spurs, on the other hand, dropped to 19-59 and stayed in last place in the Western Conference. After that, they play the Denver Nuggets, OKC Thunder, and Memphis Grizzlies before playing the Detroit Pistons to round off the season.
