The Los Angeles Lakers faced a tough challenge against the Oklahoma City Thunder, ultimately falling short with a final score of 93-101 at the Crypto.com Arena on Friday evening. Consequently, this defeat has resulted in the Lakers slipping to 6th place in the standings, now holding a record of 11 wins and 8 losses. Fans and analysts alike have expressed growing concerns about Anthony Davis’s performance as a result of this setback.
Remarkably, Davis attempted only 10 shots throughout the game, scoring 15 points while also contributing 7 assists and 12 rebounds. In the post-game interview, Lakers head coach JJ Redick addressed this pressing concern, shedding light on the underlying reasons for Davis’s limited shot attempts.
“Clearly, a lot of attention to detail on the game plan around him, to be honest with you, Just in terms of a lot of the similar actions we run. We have a bunch of different ways to get him the ball, they’re not necessarily one play and they had prepared well,” Redick said.
Davis had only attempted eight shots in the Lakers’ 123-103 victory against the Toronto Raptors. However, it’s important to note that this low number was owing largely to his early exit from the game due to an eye injury.
