Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards have been creating ripples in the hoops world. After the Boston Celtics managed to edge out the Minnesota Timberwolves by 107-105 recently. Soon after the game, Tatum was flocked by the media to give his take on the ongoing rivalry between him and Edwards. But as it turned out, they do not have much of a rivalry to start with. Or at least that is what Jayson Tatum believes.
When asked about how he felt about Edwards’ not-so-pleasant comments on Netflix’s ‘Starting 5’, Tatum mentioned that he did not have anything against the Timberwolves’ shooting guard. He also mentioned how he held a superior record against the Timberwolves. After their latest victory, Tatum is 12-1 up against Edwards’ side.
“I saw it. We were talking a lot of sh*t with each other during the summer. I’ve got a pretty good record against Minnesota in my career. That was the one time [we lost]. It’s fun. They are a really good team. Well coached. They got some talent over there. I’m certain in the near future, games against those guys will be really fun,” Tatum said.

Tatum also went on to praise the shooting guard. While spending a significant amount of time together in Paris, Tatum called Edwards a “hell of a competitor.” Surely, this was a fantastic gesture from Tatum, who, in the face of adversity too, did not forget to show his sportsmanship spirit. Now, after all the noise going around, what exactly did Anthony Edwards say to rile up things in the first place?
Anthony Edwards Questions Jayson Tatum’s Credibility
Well, the story dates back to last year when Jayson Tatum had quite an impressive season. Owing to his decent performance (26.9 PPG in 74 games), Tatum was being heavily hyped up by the media. Capturing the moment, the Netflix production ‘Starting 5’ showcased it on their show. This was something that did not sit well with Anthony Edwards.

“Y’all talking about ‘best player in the league.’ Y’all tripping,” Edwards stated, taking offense to all the hype. Thus, with things getting seemingly heated, Jayson Tatum seems to have kept his composure intact. Now, it remains to be seen whether Anthony Edwards accepts the truce or not.
