The Boston Celtics have punched their tickets for the Eastern Conference Finals after dominating and ultimately defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinal series. Besides ending the evening with a glorious 113-98 win, personal revenge was taken within the Boston franchise.
In Wednesday’s game, when Celtics star Jayson Tatum shot a smooth clutch three-pointer, his teammate Jaylen Brown struck him on the chest, taking revenge for Tatum’s action in the previous game.
In Game 4, Tatum had given a brilliant pass to Brown, who delivered a dagger 3-pointer. After the three, the scores moved up to 105-97 in favor of the Celtics, which made the forward a little too excited. To celebrate the basket, Tatum hit his closest teammate Brown on the chest, who did not see it coming.
As the 26-year-old’s hand hit Brown, he felt the pain and had since pledged to get his payback, which he did in the following game. The healthy bond between the teammates was not only visible in the acts but also through many games in the entire season. Tatum put up 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists on the Celtics’ scoreboard, while Brown chipped in 11-4-7, which is his lowest in the series, and the star has expressed that he wants more from their partnership.

Although Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have stepped up for the team on many occasions throughout the season, the latter feels it’s not enough for their next venture in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Brown said, “We got to be better, to be honest. You know, teams are going to guard us [in] different ways. And we got to be ready to play that way. Tonight, you know, they were trying to get me off the ball. [We made] the right plays over and over again.”
According to the 3-time All-Star, they need to improve their pairing to achieve the success they’re striving for. Clearly, Brown will not settle for less after coming this far in the competition, as the Celtics look laser-focused on taking home the Larry O’Brien Trophy which has eluded them since 2008.
