Ja Morant is enjoying his time in the spotlight. After getting the better of the San Antonio Spurs with a 129-115 scoreline, Morant has sent the NBA fans into a frenzy. Thanks to his incredible dunk over Victor Wembanyama, the entire online community is cheering and lauding Morant’s deed. After all, not every day you get to see an athlete go over the towering Victor Wembanyama.
Afterall, Wembanyama stands at 7’ 3”. It is for his incredible height that the Spurs’ star is often referred to as an ‘alien.’ Thus, when Morant leaped over him and made him look small, the flashbulbs were bound to point at the 25-year-old. Surprisingly, the Grizzlies’ knight in shining armor looks nonchalant in his success. What’s more, he even addressed Wembanyama as “just another player.”
“It was another person at the rim. I’ve dunked on plenty of people, bro. He don’t get no pass. If you at the rim, I’mma try you at that situation,” Morant replied to Michael Wallace.

However, the dunk never counted as the referee blew his whistle for a foul. But the unimaginable athleticism that Morant showed was sure to get the play into the highlight reels. Surprisingly, back in December 2024, Ja Morant decided to break his self-imposed dunk ban!
Ja Morant Details His Self-Imposed Dunk Ban
Ja Morant is known for his dunks and flamboyance on the court. However, oftentimes, going for a dunk does more harm than good for him. While there are obvious physical impacts, there are also possibilities of Morant getting hit by the defenders. Thus, he imposed a ban on dunking until it was absolutely necessary. However, while playing against the Boston Celtics, Morant lifted the ban with a thrilling reverse dunk.
Clarifying his reason for lifting the self-imposed ban, Morant said, “I felt like if I didn’t, [Kristaps] Porzingis was going to block it. I really wanted to go for the reverse, but hey, another one.”
