The tension between the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers has been a recurring theme this season. It flared up once again during Indiana’s 133-109 victory over Detroit. This time, it was Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart who reignited the heated rivalry with an incident that led to his ejection.
Stewart was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul in the second quarter after shoving Pacers big man Thomas Bryant to the floor. The altercation appeared to stem from earlier exchanges between the two players, but Stewart kept his composure until the second quarter. After Indiana’s Aaron Nesmith took a mid-range jumper, Stewart saw an opportunity and forcefully knocked Bryant down.

His teammates had to restrain him from escalating the situation further. Meanwhile, Stewart remained calm as he walked to the bench after smacking the referee’s arm away.
Isaiah Stewart Mocks Pacers With Air Shooting Gesture Following Flagrant 2
Trolling and poking fun at the opponent players has become a constant scenario for Stewart. After reviewing the play against Indiana, the officials decided to eject Isaiah Stewart from the game. As he made his way back to the locker room, he made a mocking gesture by air shooting toward the Pacers’ bench.
This was Stewart’s second technical foul of the night. He and Indiana’s James Johnson had already received technicals in the first quarter. It also marked the second time this season that the Pistons star has been ejected for a Flagrant 2 foul.
Stewart played just eight minutes before his ejection, finishing with one point and one assist. Meanwhile, Bryant ended the game scoring nine points, with two rebounds and two assists in 17 minutes of action.
