The Boston Celtics played the Indiana Pacers at TD Garden for game 2 of their Eastern Conference Finals series. After a nail-biting game 1 on Tuesday, won by an inspired piece of play from Jaylen Brown, this was a chance for the Celtics to get a 2-0 cushion before heading to Indiana.
During the final quarter of the game, with the Celtics leading 104-89 with around 7 minutes on the clock, a scuffle broke out. Pacers forward Isaiah Jackson tied up with Celtics’ Sam Hauser under the rim while battling for a rebound. Their physical match-up soon turned nasty when Jackson spun to land an elbow on the back of Sam Hauser after the latter pulled his jersey.
Things heated up, and the two benches came onto the court as the officials tried to defuse the situation. Jrue Holiday tried to do the right thing by playing peacemaker, but Jackson was too hot to listen. Another round of trash talk ensued between the pair, which was smoothed out by league officials. Both Hauser and Jackson were penalized with tech fouls, and, in the end, the Celtics came out on top with a 126-110 win.
Celtics Go to Indiana With a 2–0 Lead
From the get-go, the Celtics were in the mood and asserted themselves over their opposition. After a close first quarter, the Boston jerseys took control of the game and refused to relinquish till the final buzzer.
Jaylen Brown put out another monstrous performance with his 40 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Jayson Tatum and Derrick White added 23 points each, with Jrue Holiday chipping in with 15.
It was a double blow for the Pacers as guard Tyrese Haliburton left the game due to an injury after only adding 10 points. In his absence, forward Pascal Siakam scored 28 points and led the rebounds with 5, a team-high.

Andrew Nembhard added 16 to the scoreboard, but they needed another 16 to tie the home team’s score, which was not there for them on the night. The series now moves on to Indiana, where the Pacers will have a chance to tie up the series in back-to-back games. But the focused Celtics will have an opportunity to finish the series and get a few days’ extra rest before the all-important NBA Finals.
