The Golden State Warriors recently faced the Detroit Pistons in a tough matchup. Missing the services of their star prospects, Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins, the GSW found themselves in trouble. Thankfully for Stephen Curry and co., Gui Santos rose to the occasion and helped his team secure a hard-fought 107-104 victory.
Having played only 24 minutes, Santos dropped 13 crucial points, three assists, a couple of steals, and five rebounds. Naturally, the 22-year-old was extremely pleased with his performance.
“I’ve been working really hard. That’s the first game in the season that I’ve been part of the rotation. I’m just trying to play as hard as I can on the court, help my teammates get open shots. If I have to crash the rim, I’m gonna do it. I’m just trying to do everything to help my teammates to get better,” Santos said after his match-winning performance.

Santos’ performance came at a crucial time, as Stephen Curry had a rare off day. Meanwhile, Gui Santos must continue to do the good work forward, as the Warriors recently got a gruesome injury update about Jonathan Kuminga.
Jonathan Kuminga Suffers A Gruesome Injury
Kuminga played a significant role in the Golden State Warriors’ victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. Unfortunately, as the game neared its end, Kuminga suffered an ankle injury that did not look good in the first place. After detailed MRI scans, things looked incredibly somber as it was revealed that Kuminga is set to miss at least three weeks of game time.
“The Warriors say Jonathan Kuminga’s MRI revealed a right ankle sprain and he’ll be re-evaluated in three weeks. Kuminga will miss at least the next 11 games now. His return will come right near the NBA trade deadline,” reported Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports.

Jonathan Kuminga will be re-evaluated in three weeks, I’m told. Sprained right ankle. Tough blow for Kuminga and the Warriors at a time he was surging. Rules him out of the next 11 games.

Well, with a prolific player in Kuminga missing out, Gui Santos will have to take the onus. Thus, it now remains to be seen how well he can keep up with his good form in the upcoming games.
