Former NBA star Dwight Howard recently appeared on “Gil’s Arena Live” with Gilbert Arenas, where they engaged in a lively discussion about the legendary careers of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. During the conversation, Howard expressed his belief that Kobe Bryant was a more skilled player than Michael Jordan.
However, Arenas was quick to challenge Howard’s view. Arenas pointed out that Howard was focusing on the later stages of Jordan’s career rather than his prime years.
“Why the f**k are you talking about Kobe enhanced MJ’s moves when you’re only talking about MJ 95, 96, 99? Kobe don’t look nothing like MJ in 84 to 93,” Arenas said.
Bryant was well-known for idolizing Jordan, as some of his plays closely resembled his. The former NBA star then claimed that Bryant didn’t emulate the “Air Jordan” of the 1980s but rather the post-up, fadeaway shooting Jordan of the late 1990s.
“He doesn’t know who that f**k is. He learned Michael Jordan’s old f**k comeback with the post-up fadeaway. That’s an MJ he mimicked. He did not mimic Air Jordan,” he added.
Gilbert Arenas Talks About His Madame Tussaud’s Wax Figure
On his podcast, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas shared a significant honor he received back in 2008. During that summer, Arenas was on a roll, appearing on the cover of EA Sports’ NBA Live 08 and Slam magazine. However, one of the biggest highlights for him was being immortalized with a wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s in Washington, D.C.

“I gained a lot during that summer (2008). It was the cover of that (EA Sports NBA Live 08), Slam magazine cover, and Madame Tussaud’s. I got the statue. I was the third NBA athlete to get immortalized,” Arenas said.
This recognition was a significant milestone in Arenas’ career, placing him in the company of basketball legends like Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal. What made the moment even more memorable for Arenas was that he received his wax figure before then-President Barack Obama.
