The Golden State Warriors managed to get back on the winning track with a narrow 116-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center, bouncing back after a tough stretch of games. However, even as the Warriors secured the much-needed win, tensions flared between teammates Buddy Hield and Gary Payton II during the heated moments of the game.
The drama occurred in the second quarter, with the Warriors leading by a comfortable 47-32. A costly defensive mistake by Gui Santos set the stage for an on-court exchange between Hield and Payton. Santos committed a personal foul on Anthony Edwards. While Edwards was at the free-throw line, Hield and Payton began arguing about the defensive setup.
Dennis Schroder was quick to step in and defuse the situation. After observing his teammates’ argument closely, Schroder moved in to separate the two players. Fortunately, the disagreement didn’t spiral further, and both Hield and Payton quickly let go of the tension, refocusing on the task at hand.
