LeBron James has broken multiple NBA records and accomplished a lot in professional basketball. But the one he will be most proud of is fathering his own teammate.
The father-son duo are set to head into the 2024/25 campaign together, with the Los Angeles Lakers drafting Bronny James in the second round earlier this year.
This is a first for major league sports, and it might never happen again.
LeBron made a viral claim during Lakers Media Day recently, saying he realized his son was going to be something special as far back as Bronny’s fifth year of existence.
Jeff Teague, a former NBA veteran who played in the league from 2009-2021, has called LeBron out for lying.
“I f**k with LeBron, I f**k with the whole moment. But the only thing I didn’t feel I was like he said when he was like five years old he seen the n***a and was like yeah, he going to the league, like stop,” Teague said on his ‘Club 520’ podcast. “I love y’all to death, I love your whole family, but bro.”

Jeff Teague’s Take On LeBron James Drea Mixed Reactions
Some fans felt like Teague was hating on LBJ with the comment above, but others agreed with him.
“Dudes hating bc Lebron felt his son had the ability to make the league by his skills at an early age. … yep haters will look 4 anything negative .. nothing new here folks,” a user wrote.
“Its lebrons son he knew he was going to the league in the delivery room,” someone pointed out.
“Best liar in sports,” declared a third.
“He always cappin’…like when he called himself the GOAT,” noted a fourth.
“I do believe that lebron be cappin but thinking your son is going to the league is the most believable shit ever,” a comment read.
To be fair, LeBron didn’t actually say he knew his son was headed to the NBA at five years old. Saying he’s special and saying he’s going to be a pro one day are two different things.
