The Golden State Warriors faced a big question about the championship title after losing one of their Big 3 members, Klay Thompson, and missing out on elite trades. The franchise has had its golden days with massive success in less than a decade, but what went wrong? The former Bucks player Brandon Jennings has come up with a befitting answer.
Recently on “The Gilbert Arenas Show”, Jennings stated, “The Warriors have been cooked since the punch. To be honest, the dynasty has been over since that punch. It just took a whole lot out of the team. I don’t think they have ever been right since then either.”
The infamous fight between Draymond and Poole created a rift within the team. The latter had said something during a practice session in October 2022 that riled up Draymond. Unable to control his rage, the Warriors’ defensive mastermind landed a punch on his teammates’ faces. Soon after, Poole was traded to the Wizards, but the Warriors couldn’t march their way back to the championship race.
According to Jennings, this affected the chemistry within the team. Draymond also seems to be aware of how his action changed a lot of things which he regrets.
Now with one of his longtime teammates gone, the bonding may further be ruined. However, there were hints that Klay dropped, which Draymond claimed to be unaware of.
Draymond Green Had No Idea About Thompson’s Warriors Activity
Klay Thompson’s departure from the Warriors wasn’t a surprise. The clash between the players and the organization has been going on for quite some time now, but Draymond declared earlier this month that he had no clue about it.

Earlier in June, Klay unfollowed the franchise’s official Instagram page while there were on-going rumors about the swingman leaving the Warriors. Talking about the matter on “The Draymond Green Show”, the host said, “I know all of you were probably looking forward to me talking about Klay unfollowing the Warriors and deleting some IG posts or something. I had no idea that happened.”
However, in the absence of Klay, Draymond needs to step up for the Warriors to support Stephen Curry in bringing back their glory days before they hang up their boots.
