Stephen A Smith is getting ripped on social media after getting exposed for not knowing who plays for the New York Knicks.
The ‘First Take’ host is a self-proclaimed die-hard Knicks fan who broke down on live television after news of Julius Randle’s season-ending surgery dropped last week.
The 55-year-old claims to be a lifelong supporter of the team and laments over their woes as often as he dumps on the Dallas Cowboys. However, he may have exposed himself as his recent take suggested he doesn’t actually watch the Knicks play.
“I’m looking at Grimes – he’s looked good,” he said on ‘The Stephen A Smith Show’ after the Knicks beat the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. “I’m looking at Isaiah Hartenstein as a reserve, giving you activity off the bench. I’m looking at Mitchell Robinson back on the court.”

It appears Stephen A. forgot Quentin Grimes was traded to the Detroit Pistons ahead of the trade deadline.
Smith also suggested that Isaiah Hartenstein has been killing it from the bench, although the center has been starting for months now.
Fans Want Stephen A Smith To Lose His MVP Vote
Fans are now calling for Stephen A Smith to lose his MVP vote.
“Example 2 thousand of Stephen A Smith knowing nothing about the New York Knicks,” one user wrote. “All-time fake fan.”
“We have dudes who don’t watch basketball, even their own team, talking sports every day for millions making millions?” another wondered.
Here are some more reactions:
This is hardly the first time Smith has been accused of being a fraud. He was recently called out by Jason Whitlock for lying about his college basketball career and so far hasn’t offered any credible pushback despite going on a lengthy rant in which he referred to his former colleague as a “fat bastard” and a “B-.”
