Dwyane Wade recently reflected on the NBA’s Top 75 Ceremony during an interview on the podcast “7 PM In Brooklyn.” In retrospect, the three-time champion disclosed how Michael Jordan’s presence stole the stage even in a room packed with luminaries.
During the 2021–22 season, the NBA held its Top 75 celebration to commemorate the league’s 75th anniversary. Alongside NBA icons like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wade and Carmelo Anthony were nominated to the squad.
But Michael Jordan stood out from the rest of the stars. The Bulls star went on to win six championships, five MVP awards, ten scoring crowns, and fourteen All-Star appearances before becoming a symbol for the sport of basketball. Throughout his career, he shot 49.7% and averaged 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
Wade told Carmelo Anthony, “I didn’t even know how that moment was gonna hit, even when we got named to the team. But the moment we walked in the room and you actually saw Kareem, Jerry West, and Magic you’re like ‘Oh I’m on this team.’ The sh*t talking in the room was crazy but the moment was when MJ came in that m********er.”
He added, “Let me tell you something, when he walked through everything changed. When MJ came in it was silence. That clip with him and Magic that went viral, that was right away. I was just sitting there and I’m like ‘I’m listening to Michael Jordan and Magic talk sh*t.’ And they serious!”

Michael’s career will live on in many people’s memories, including other players who consider him the best player. His fame has now reached mythical proportions. Right now, the only question is whether anyone can match it.
LeBron James, a four-time champion and 20-year veteran, is as close as it gets. Like Michael Jordan always did, he has attained global renown and notoriety, frequently leaving many of today’s younger players in amazement.
James is building and extending his empire outside the basketball world through his ventures with Spring Hill Group, Uninterrupted, and others. He has already established extensive contacts in a wide range of other businesses.
