Draymond Green and Jordan Poole spent nearly two seasons as teammates with the Golden State Warriors. But, their relationship was far from smooth. The tension between the two players often spilled over, affecting not only their interactions but also their on-court performance.
One of the more heated incidents between Green and Poole occurred in 2021. In a video shared on X, Green is seen angrily confronting Poole during a game. Green then comes off the bench and unleashes a string of threats aimed at the young player.
“I’mma beat the sh*t out of you… I will f*ck you up,” Green said in the heated exchange.
The sour relationship between the two only grew worse over time, ultimately leading to Poole’s trade to the Washington Wizards. His conflict with Green, combined with inconsistent court performances, seemed to play a role in his departure from the Warriors.
Steve Kerr Reflects on Draymond Green and Jordan Poole’s Heated Incident
Draymond Green and Jordan Poole’s fallout caused major tension within the Golden State Warriors, and it especially infuriated head coach Steve Kerr. The tension peaked when Green, who recently warned Paul George, punched Poole during a practice session, creating a difficult atmosphere for the team.
In a recent interview on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Kerr reflected on the incident that shook the Warriors. Kerr admitted that the altercation between Green and Poole was one of the most challenging moments he had faced as a coach.

“I think for sure the Jordan Poole incident. Draymond and I are a lot alike in many ways; people probably wouldn’t see that from the outside, but we’re both kind of maniacal competitors, and we’ve lost our minds with each other during games over whatever disagreements about strategy,” Kerr said.
“But he crossed the line about Jordan, and he knows it; he knew it immediately. And it made that season incredibly difficult for everybody. That story has been regurgitated many times, but that’s probably the time I was most angry,” he added.
Before leaving Warriors, Poole averaged 15.8 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds. But despite his talents, the off-court drama made it difficult for him to find his place in the team.
