In a recent game where the Golden State Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 125-112, NBA fans saw a playful moment between former teammates Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. Poole, now with the Wizards, nailed a deep three-pointer over Green and pointed at him. Later, Stephen Curry hit a buzzer-beating three over Poole, and Green responded by pointing back at Poole.
On his podcast, The Draymond Green Show, Green shared what went down in this playful back-and-forth. Green recalled Poole’s unexpected intensity as the game progressed and noticed something new in Poole’s approach. Green then explained how Curry’s buzzer-beating three gave him the perfect opportunity to mirror Poole’s gesture.
“You know how you can see a look in somebody’s eye? He was talking to me. Last year he didn’t say a word, so I’m thinking, Okay, maybe it’s all good. My man just pointed at me like I was guarding him, bro,” Green said.
“Everybody on my Twitter was like, ‘Draymond pointed, Steph hit the three.’ It’s actually the same thing because [Poole] went for a contest that wasn’t his, and I just pointed back,” he added.
Draymond Green Praises Jordan Poole’s Growth
After the Warriors’ recent game against the Wizards, Draymond Green took a moment to commend the progress Wizards guard Jordan Poole has made this season. Speaking to the media, Green highlighted how Poole’s performance has evolved since last year, noting how he seems more focused and selective with his shots.
“He’s playing a lot better. His shot selection… you come to a new situation, as a competitor you want to show everything. I think last year he was pressing. He wanted it so bad. He’s settling in. Last year were bad shots but he wanted it so bad,” Green said.
