Draymond Green is open to accept his new role for the Golden State Warriors. After being out injured along with Steph Curry, Green was expected to start against the Timberwolves. Surprisingly, Steve Kerr’s first line up did not feature Green. Initially, it was thought that the 34-year-old is still injured. But soon it was discovered that this is one of Kerr’s latest gameplans.
Instead, the Golden State Warriors HC is focusing more on the youngster Jonathan Kuminga. On being asked about starting on the bench, the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year spoke positively. “I care about this organization, and I know a lot of people in this organization, including myself, think he’s next… If he’s next, at some point we’ve got to see it. For him to do that, he needs the opportunity. Like I said, if the opportunity falls on you, being me, then that’s what it is and you got to figure it out,” Green said.

As per Kerr, this will be the new norm for the Warriors from now on. The HC mentioned ‘maximizing’ Kuminga’s potential for the long-term benefit of the team. He also stated that he wanted Kuminga to team up with Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney to form a formidable attack. Meanwhile, Green was recently criticized for his confusing play that cost the Warriors the game against the Suns.
Kevin Durant Gets Candid On Draymond Green’s Mistake
The Warriors lost against the Phoenix Suns 105-113. However, what caught the eyes of the fans was a glaring Draymond Green mistake that led Kevin Durant to score a three-peat. While the duo clashed on the court, in one instance, Durant went for a three-pointer. Surprisingly, the Warriors’ icon’s defense was questionable as he looked confused as to who he was guarding. This allowed Durant to score an easy three-pointer.
I don't know who it was. It felt like he was in between guarding two guys and I just popped for the 3."

Later on, Durant addressed the situation in his own candid way. “I don’t know who it was. It felt like he was in between guarding two guys, and I just popped for the 3,” Durant spoke about his former teammate. Thus, with things looking a little tight for Draymond Green, it remains to be seen how well he can bounce back.
