The Golden State Warriors and Draymond Green were on their toes during the Dallas Mavericks matchup. Green tried his best to add up 21 points to his side but met with an unfortunate loss. However, apt in facing the camera and speaking his mind, the power forward made his stance clear on what he thought of the newly traded Dennis Schroder.
Soon after Schroder’s recent trade, chatter surfaced pointing at his adjustment at the Bay Area team. Veteran forward Draymond Green pointed out that the Warriors operate under a specific style of play that emphasizes perimeter shooting, with Stephen Curry at its center. This play style has allowed the team to achieve considerable success in the past, but it appears to be coming under scrutiny. To be honest, the Warriors experienced inconsistency during the 2024-25 season.
“I don’t think he was necessarily brought here to fit. We play a certain style of basketball he does not really play. We need someone who can do the things he does. I’m looking forward to us adjusting to him,” Green said during a post-game conversation.
But for everything to fall in place, Schroder is not at fault. He is coming off with an impressive average of 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in his previous stint with the Brooklyn Nets. His arrival at the Warriors will come with its own set of problems, as the team is not winning it in and out. How well Schroder integrates and maintains his production in this evolving environment will be closely watched. Sooner or later, head coach Steve Kerr and his men have to look ahead before the ‘Curry Problem’ starts.
Draymond Green – Stephen Curry Optimistic About Dennis Schroder
It’s always exciting to have someone new on the side, and Schroder will get to feel the welcoming gesture of his new team. Stephen Curry and teammate Draymond Green are visibly excited about the Warriors’ recent acquisition. After the Warriors’ well-fought loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Curry expressed his enthusiasm for Schroder.

“He’s a true competitor. Can create, score, run an offense, a whole lineup. I’m excited to see him plug in. A guy that I can play with in the backcourt, can handle a lot of ball handler responsibility when I’m off the court. Gives us another guy that can attack a defense and on the other side he loves to compete,” Curry said after the game.

“He digs in on the defensive end too. So should be a seamless transition for him. We’ll see how it looks,” Steph addressed Schroder’s potential role on the team.
