Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin went viral on social media with his clutch moment in a charity game on Saturday. In the celebrity basketball game, Hamlin stole the show with a step-back 3 for the win after sitting down his guard.
Damar Hamlin arranged a charity basketball game at his college team, the Pittsburgh Panthers’ court. With only seconds on the clock, Hamlin drove to the 3-point arc and dipped the game’s final shot to send the North Allegheny gym crowd into a frenzy.
Aside from Hamlin, Russell Wilson was present but did not participate in the game. Aaron Donald, Brandon Marshall, Julian Newman, James Cook, and Micah Hyde were some of the notable names who participated in the game. This was one of the events throughout the week, as Hamlin played an active role in raising awareness of cardiac issues.
Having suffered from it, the Bills safety now shows tremendous commitment to fighting against it and helping those affected. He showed the same willingness as well when LeBron James’ son, Bronny, suffered a cardiac arrest last year.
Damar Hamlin Reflected on Bronny James’ Situation
Last year, Bronny James suffered a scary cardiac arrest while at practice with his college team, USC. The guard collapsed on the court and was rushed to the hospital. After weeks of thorough medical care, Bronny returned to normalcy, and Damar Hamlin supported the James family throughout.
Damar Hamlin took to social media to post, “Prayers to Bronny & The James family as well. 🙏🏽 here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process.”

Hamlin appreciated the generosity from the Lakers forward and wanted to show his gratitude. “I wanted to let him know I’ll be there for whatever he needs on his journey as far as his recovery and getting back to his sport if that’s what he chooses to do,” said Hamlin.
