Chicago Bulls Star Lonzo Ball and his brothers have been among the most talked-about basketball siblings. The Los Angeles Lakers selected Lonzo with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets chose his youngest brother, LaMelo Ball, with the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. However, their middle brother, LiAngelo Ball, has yet to play in the NBA.
Recently, Lonzo Ball and his brother LiAngelo made a notable appearance on Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel. Throughout their engaging discussion, Lonzo provided LiAngelo with a crucial reality check about his ambitions in the NBA.
“I feel like the opportunity is not gonna be the same in the G League for him. It’s because of his process and how long it’s been. I am his big brother, I have to tell him the truth. I think his path is overseas, you should’ve been overseas killer.” Lonzo Ball said.

On December 2, 2020, Ball officially inked a training camp deal with the Detroit Pistons. However, he was released just eleven days later, on December 13, 2020, without having the opportunity to participate in any preseason games.
Subsequently, he joined the Hornets for the 2022 NBA Summer League. Fast-forward to September 26, 2022, when he signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Hornets but was waived again on October 15, 2022. Since then, he has not received any offers from NBA teams, raising questions about his future in the league. During their discussion on Angel Reese’s podcast, LiAngelo responded to his brother’s suggestion of pursuing opportunities overseas.

Following LiAngelo’s remarks, Lonzo Ball pointed out that his brother had previously been allowed to shine in the Summer League with the Hornets. In addition, he recommended that rather than occupying a spot on the bench in the G League, LiAngelo might explore the prospect of playing overseas to further his career.
