The Miami Heat secured a commanding 114-98 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center despite missing their star player, Jimmy Butler, who was serving a suspension. The game extended into double overtime, but Miami managed to control the pace and capitalize on the Warriors’ struggles to earn the win despite Stephen Curry’s game-high performance.
Curry made a valiant effort in the first half, attempting to keep the Warriors in the game almost single-handedly. His early scoring contributions briefly narrowed the deficit, but the Heat found their rhythm and dominated the second half. After seeing the team’s struggle, Curry’s frustration was evident as he watched the game slip further out of reach.
Steph Curry just looked generally exasperated tonight as the Warriors continually tried and failed to come back against a Heat team that played into double OT last night. Here’s a wandering, frustrated Curry after subbing out for final time. pic.twitter.com/ekP5P0EbS3

Curry’s emotions boiled over in the fourth quarter when the Warriors trailed by 18 points. During a timeout, he was caught on camera walking around the court and glancing at the stands with visible exasperation.
Despite the loss, Curry delivered an eye-catching individual performance. He finished the night with a game-high 31 points, seven rebounds, and shooting 11-for-22 from the field.
The loss added to Golden State’s growing woes, marking their second consecutive defeat. They suffered a brutal 30-point blowout loss to the Sacramento Kings just days earlier.

“I can see it with Steph. He’s continued to be brilliant night after night, but at his core, he’s a winner. He’s a champion. He wants to compete at the highest level. So he is really struggling with the emotion of not being competitive right now. He probably hasn’t had to deal with this since his first couple of years in the league,” Kerr said.
The Warriors will face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. The team is expected to turn things around and give Curry and the team a much-needed boost.
