LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers star, has started his 22nd NBA preseason, but this season is different. Bronny James was selected in the 2024 NBA draft to play alongside his father on the Lakers, making them the first father-son duo in the NBA’s history. As the games proceed, basketball fans are witnessing some notable moments from this father-son duo.
James was sidelined in a recent preseason game against the Phoenix Suns while his son, Bronny, played for 17 minutes. Fans witnessed a heartwarming moment during the game when James stepped in to defend Bronny from a flagrant foul.
In the fourth quarter of the game, Bronny chased Suns’ forward Jalen Bridges as he moved toward the basket. When Bridges jumped to make a dunk, Bronny’s shoulder slightly pushed him, causing Bridges to hit the floor. The referees reviewed the play and gave Bronny his first flagrant foul of his NBA career.
However, James, who was watching the game from the bench, felt that the foul called on his son was not justified. After the referees gave the flagrant foul, James approached them and asked for a full explanation.
Kevin Durant’s Epic Three-Word Response on Blocking Bronny James
During the game at the Footprint Center, basketball fans witnessed an exciting moment in the fourth quarter. Bronny attempted to dunk on Kevin Durant, but Durant made an impressive block. However, Durant was called for a foul on James’ double-pump layup attempt.
The crowd at the Suns’ arena erupted in protest, firmly believing that it was a clean block. Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer challenged the decision in an attempt to reverse the call, but unfortunately, the challenge was unsuccessful. Later in the game, Bronny missed both free throws, adding to the drama of the match.
