DeMarcus Cousins, who last played for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, is currently showcasing his skills in Taiwan’s T1 League. During a game in the league, the 33-year-old center became visibly frustrated when a referee missed several calls.
The altercation began when Cousins angrily shouted at the referees for missing several calls. The two-time Olympic gold medalist didn’t stop shouting and also made an inappropriate gesture toward the game officials, giving them the middle finger.
In July, Cousins joined the Taiwan Mustangs for the Asian Tournament, bringing with him his competitive energy and prominent personality to the league. However, his recent behavior has drawn attention to his struggles in adapting to different refereeing systems and maintaining composure under pressure.
Cousins has dominated the Taiwan League with his amazing skills. Due to his great efforts and remarkable stats, Cousins was awarded the Finals MVP in the 2024 T1 League Finals. He is not just a fierce player on the court; he is also skilled at voicing his opinions on various subjects at various times, as he did during the most recent interview.
Cousins Reflects on the 2018 Pelicans’ Untapped Potential with Rondo and Davis
During a recent appearance on the Knuckleheads podcast, Cousins discussed several topics, including his tenure with the Kings and the potential of that 2018 Pelicans squad with Rondo and Anthony Davis.
“Shout out to Rajon Rondo. Honestly, it was like it was Rondo, bro; he put that battery in my back, he put things into perspective for me, he helped me understand the game more, and he slowed the game down for me. I started paying more attention to details, but everything kind of slowed down, and that was just that Rondo effect for me. He’s still my guy to this day, he still coaches me, and I love that about him.” Cousins said.
