The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for some severe form this season. Having shrugged off the mid-season jitters, the Lakers are now on a five-match-winning streak. In their latest outing against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Los Angeles outfit emerged victorious 104-99. Surprisingly, barring the big names, the Lakers are coming together as a unit. This is one of the biggest reasons the Lakers look so daunting this season.
Apart from LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Austin Reaves has contributed significantly. Now, add to that rookie star Dalton Knecht. Against the Pelicans, the rookie impressed significantly, dropping 27 points. However, despite his pleasant showing, there are times when Knecht “frustrates and upsets” his Lakers’ teammates.
“Every time he shoots the ball, I think it’s going in… That’s why we get so frustrated and upset when he doesn’t shoot,” said Anthony Davis in an interview uploaded on FreeDawkins. Davis then went on to heap praises on Knecht terming him as a “great player.”
While praising his shooting and defending abilities, the Lakers star acknowledged Knecht’s ability to make great passes. These seem like some pleasant things to worry about for the Lakers’ star. In early November, Anthony Davis was significantly worried about his team’s performance.
Anthony Davis Rang The Alarm Bells Following Lakers’ Slump
The Lakers momentarily lost the plot after having a dream start. Losing to the Detroit Pistons in early November meant that the Lakers completed a hat trick of losses. Davis sounded concerned about their playoff chances. He stressed how important it was for his team to get back their mojo in order to proceed forward.

Criticizing his team vehemently, Davis urged his teammates to pull up their socks. “We’re just two different teams right now… One game, we’re this team who showcased it can be one of the better teams in the league. Then the next, we’re this team who — I don’t even know who we are. So, we just got to be better,” said the 31-year-old. Well, it seems his advice has been taken seriously, and the Lakers have been high since then.
